Glimpses of my fictions..

Being an amateur photographer, I am also a beginner in the field of writing..

Here, I am presenting a portion of my second story.. Please feel free to share your opinion and suggestions....

Alina's day started with a phone call. Which said that she had to rush to the bureau. Well, the starting of her day had been like this since a decade.

Alina, a young, beautiful and confident woman was a dedicated FBI agent. She had been serving for a decade.

"Why on the earth only I have to rush for the work?" said Alina to George catching her breathe.

George was a strong and extra ordinarily handsome man. Almost all the female staff, working in bureau tried their luck on him.

But three years of hard core professional relations took a sweet turn. They dated each other for 7 years.  And a year back they tied each other by exchanging ring.

They were sharing wonderful lives. They supported each other at every step. They understood each other and more than that each other's work.

Their happiness was on cloud nine. They could see some changes in their selves.  Alina became more beauty conscious. George's visits to saloon increased. It was all love which was making this difference. Beautiful it was.

Each day, Alina was falling for George more and more. Each day, their love was becoming more immense. The bond they were sharing was unbreakable.

They became even more conscious in each other's present. They arranged dinner and movie program regularly. Long drive was their favorite.

Once, they planned to visit an exhibition and then they were supposed to go for the candle light dinner. The occasion was special. It was Alina's birthday. So George had arranged everything as per her choice. George was at the venue at sharp 7 pm. The decided time. He waited for Alina. He waited for a couple of hours. He tried to call Alina. She didn't answer. He waited for another three hours. After the wait of five long hours, he headed back to home.

The next day, at the bureau, Alina went to George's cabin. She was about to apologize. But out of her surprise, George said, "I hope you ate something last night."

"Huh?" Alina couldn't get it.

"You must have been busy with work till very late. So you had something to eat or slept empty stomach?"

Alina's eyes got wet. She said holding back her tears, "Oh please George. Don't be so generous. It was me who failed to appreciate all your efforts you put for  the plan of my birthday. I could not come. I could not answer your call even. I was so stuck", George came closer to her, held her face in his palms, and interrupted her, "Shh.. It is okay sweetheart. It happens. I know. Don't think too much."

And finally, tears rolled down from Alina's beautiful eyes. George hugged her.

They wanted to go ahead with their relationship. Their expectations increased. But the incidents like this became frequent. They failed to give enough time to each other every now and then.

Alina seemed to be lost in thoughts many times. George noticed it too. He asked her. But she refused to answer saying everything was fine. It was becoming difficult for her to engage herself  in work. It was so strange for her as her work was her life. It happened for many days.

Once, Alina came to George's cabin and said, "Have you got a second? I need to talk to you."

"Yes. Go ahead." Said George who was already lost in some papers.

"I mean Now." This time, her voice was heavier.

George looked at her serious eyes. Put all papers aside, got up and said, "Yeah. What's the matter?"

"I am leaving the bureau. I am resigning."

"Are you kidding?" Aghast. George was shocked by Alina's words.

"No. Not actually." Alina explained.

"But why?"

"Because I don't want to trouble our relations. And one has to give up something. And I, of course, can't give up with you."

"But it is your life. It is just the life style which will change. Not the life." George argued.

"I understand. But it is about adjustments. And we have to do that. What is the big deal?" Alina struggled to make her point.

"Whatever it is. But I won't let you do this. How can you even think of this? I am not that selfish, am I? And what do you think? If you leave your career for me and I would be happy with this? We would move on happily with this fact? No. We can't. At least, I can't." Stated George.

"But George," Alina was about to say something but George interrupted her, "The conversation is over here." He left the room with the bang of the door.

Few days passed. Alina was trying hard to compose herself through an entire
week. George could see it clearly. But it was making him very uncomfortable. He started blaming himself. It was painful for him as well.

One day, George sat with Alina. He wanted to have a talk with her.

"So, finally. We get some time to spend."

George sat stiffly. He seemed a bit serious. He sighed heavily.

"What's that?" Alina got tensed and asked.

"Well, look." George leaned towards Alina as he struggled with his first few words, "Al, I have decided something. For us." Finished hardly with a sigh of struggle emphasizing the last two words.

"And what is that?" asked Alina showing more interested than she was really, trying to make his mood light.
But George kept his tone steady, looked into her eyes and said, "We need separation."

Alina leaned back, pushing herself on the chair. Her face turned pale. She had already smelt her fear and right now she was facing it, actually.

"You want separation." Alina stated clearly with no sign of doubt, looking straight, avoiding eye contact with George.

"For us."George leaned forward and said as soon as Alina finished.

"You want separation." Alina repeated herself , this time looking straight into George's eyes.

George fumbled.

Before he could speak anything, Alina got up and was about to leave but George hold her hand and got up, "Alina, please try to understand."

Alina, still showing her back to George. George said, "I am doing this for both of us. It is just good for us. We do not have any option."

Alina turned around, "Our relationship has never been an option to me." said Alina, this time looking straight into George's eyes.

"Whatever it is. It is my decision. You might not agree but we have to do this. If we stretch this longer, we will regret. Please try to understand." George tried hard to convince her but it didn't work.

Alina left the room.

George stood there staring at the banged door.
